Toppan’s Electronic Point of Purchase System

Toppan have developed a high resolution electronic point of purchase system. It takes the form of an LCD display which can show both static and moving images. The screen is small and light enough to be clipped to a supermarket shelf for example, and it requires no player as the images are stored on the internal memory after being downloaded from a memory card. The screen is equipped with speakers so that audio can also be used. The TV commercial could be played next to the item on the shelf, or for example, ideas of recipes using that item and how to make them.

Features of the Screen:
* The full screen can be used for POP (no wide frame)
* It has the advantage of a high resolution LCD display (QVGA)
* MPEG4, high-end CPU
* High-quality images produced using the latest DSP technology
* You can download the data onto the internal memory and remove the memory card
* Small (either 6.4 inch or 3.5 inch) and light, and therefore easy to move around a shop or
showroom.

Pre Press & Data Asset Management

Toppan have created a unique internet publishing service for producing localised flyers, direct mail and other campaigns for national and international companies. These companies are able to maintain their brand identity and at the same time allow their local branches or dealerships to customise their marketing materials to better suit the customers in their area. This system is revolutionising advertising in the car industry in Japan and has also been adopted by many other companies with a large chain of shops such as hair dressers and language schools.

With no previous design experience, members of the local sales team of a regional, national or international company can customise their marketing material by choosing the most appropriate pictures and editing text, maps, prices etc. according to their customer profile.

* Companies can retain brand identity be restricting the changeable elements of the materials
* Delivery costs are reduced and lead times shortened as the printing data is sent to the nearest printing partner.
