Because of the nature of their work, Toppan’s securities printing plants, situated in Japan and mainland China, have always employed tight security on both tangible (buildings etc) and intangible levels (operations and credibility). We are proud of the robust measures these plants have implemented in quantitative controls, storage systems, shipping control, personnel management, and the protection of personal information, and all of our plants producing cards are accredited by organisations such as Visa and Mastercard.
Along with the progress of economic globalization, rules to protect personal information have been established throughout the world. In Japan too, the establishment of a basic law concerning personal information is being examined. Against this background, as part of the Japan Industrial Standards, the “JIS Q 15001: Requirements of Compliance Program Concerning Personal Information Protection” was established in 2003 as a guideline for personal information protection. The Japan Information Processing Development Association undertakes the task of checking and certifying individual industrial sites where this guideline has been adopted.
